Mythological Buddhist : The team of Archaeological Survey of India has discovered another gem from the land of Madhya Pradesh, India. This is a remarkable discovery from Madhya Pradesh 26 temples, 26 caves, Bandhavgarh Forest Reserve, 2 monasteries, 2 votive stupas, 24 inscriptions, 46 sculptures, other scattered remains and 19 water structures have been recorded.
The time period of the kings – the reign of Bhimsen, Maharaja Bhattadev, Maharaja Pothasiri, was included. According to the ASI, the places mentioned in the inscriptions are Mathura, Pavata (mountain), Vejabhaarda, Kaushami and Sapatanaairika.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) searched an area of about 170 sq km falling in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve for months, a feat which was done for the first time since 1938.
According to SK Bajpai, who led the exploration, several structures were documented and reported, including temples, ancient caves, Buddhist remains, sculptures, water bodies, wall inscriptions in old scripts such as Math, Brahmi and Nagari.

The Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh is home to a spectacular array of big cats. It is located about 500 km from the capital Bhopal. It is situated in the eastern Satpura hill range of Katni and Umaria districts. Mythologically the name “Bandhavgarh” means Bandhav or brother and Garh means fort.
This tiger reserve is known for its healthy population of tigers and variety of herbivores. The region is unique in terms of biodiversity, as it includes valleys, hills, marshes, rivers, and grasslands to give rise to a variety of flora. Apart from the tiger, about 260 species of birds, 70 species of butterfly and 34 species of mammals have been listed.
