According to University of Toronto:
According to Barbara Sherwood Lawler, a geologist at the University of Toronto, this is the oldest body of water in the world.2.5 billion years old water, Researchers believe that for the first time they have discovered such old water. It is like discovering a whole new world. The taste of this water is ten times more salty than sea water and the amount of hydrogen gas in it is very high, due to which there is a possibility of the existence of micro-organisms in it.
In 2006, several million years old water was found in a gold mine in South Africa, 2.1 kilometers below the surface of the ground and microbes were also found in it. According to the investigation, this water is one to 2.6 billion years old and this incident is even before the origin of oxygen ‘Q2’ on the earth. Now researchers hope that if bacteria are present in this water, then there can be hope of life on Mars also because the rock found on Mars is like this rock.
