Egypt expatriation looted ancient Green Coffin sarcophagus from US :
An ancient time wooden sarcophagus known as the “Green Coffin” has been expatriation to Egypt from United States in the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences , after US authorities determined it was looted years ago.
Several years ago the coffin cover was out of a country secretly in a way that is not allowed by the law from Egypt .
Egypt succeeded in recuperate the green coffin which was looted from Egypt.
The country’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa and Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and were also in presence.
The sarcophagus, almost 3 metres about 9.5 feet tall with a brightly painted top surface, may have belonged to an ancient priest named Ankhenmaat, although some of the signature on it have been eliminate , Waziri said.

Coffin was ‘trafficked’
“This stunning “GREEN COFFIN” was trafficked by a well-organised network that has looted uncountable antiquities from the region,” Bragg said at the time. “We are happy that this object will be returned to Egypt, where it deservedly belongs to the Egypt.”
Bragg said the same network had looted green coffin out of Egypt that was highlight at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. The museum had bought the piece from a Paris art dealer in 2017 for about $4m. It was returned to Egypt in 2019.
